00:00:00 – Wacom brush settings tutorial.
00:00:00 – today you have an illustrator brush tutorial where I show you what settings
00:00:03 – I like to use for hand lettering in Illustrator also it's a quick look at
00:00:07 – the specific settings in illustrator for drawing tablets
00:00:18 – welcome back to store graphics everybody home of graphic design content today a
00:00:23 – tutorial and a brief look at some hand lettering brush settings in illustrator
00:00:26 – I keep getting asked about brush settings so here's the video with
00:00:30 – the answers remember if you do enjoy my content and let me know what they're
00:00:34 – like and a comment it really helps my channel firstly in this alliterated
00:00:44 – brush tutorial I will show you what kind of settings I often like to use for hand
00:00:47 – lettering you will be using the brush tool here for the answer and muttering
00:00:51 – itself with your drawing a blur I have a very basic Wacom by the way in case you
00:00:56 – were wondering so head up to the top and add a new brush by clicking the drop
00:01:00 – down menu we want to select a calligraphic brush for her lettering in
00:01:09 – this window you can see that this is where you would be able to rotate your
00:01:12 – brush here you can change the roundness of your brush making it thin or round
00:01:19 – and lastly this is where you can change the thickness of your brush my hand
00:01:25 – lettering often like to try and mimic a calligraphy pen in your life and we're
00:01:29 – talking by the nib here so I like to rotate it onto the side and make it
00:01:32 – quite thin now in the thickest section I use a pressure setting I'll be showing
00:01:38 – you later more about this pressure settings in this tutorial but basically
00:01:43 – if you see the three dots at the top it shows how when you apply pressure with
00:01:46 – the Wacom pen the brushstroke will go from small to large as you increase the
00:01:51 – pressure on the table I didn't test out my brush and it was
00:02:00 – too small or not to my liking I hit command Z and I double click the new
00:02:03 – brush here to reopen the settings I want more of a stroke wave behind it so let's
00:02:09 – put it up a little bit and I don't like to use a full pressure but I do like to
00:02:14 – have some pressure on my hand lettering of course I may change the settings
00:02:18 – around from time to time depending on the project I'm working on
00:02:22 – with this kind of setup here you can make hand lettering a lot like urban art
00:02:26 – style calligraphy which I do like quite a lot
00:02:35 – now we're going to look at the pressure settings and we're starting with the
00:02:39 – side section in the settings menu if we select pressure and then put it up
00:02:44 – on the slider here when we drill with the illustrator the pressure on the
00:02:48 – tabla line will be smaller as you play more pressure in the brush line will
00:02:52 – increase in size next let's see what happens when we add the pressure setting
00:03:06 – to the varnish section if I apply a little pressure the long piece in as
00:03:20 – they press down harder the line will become more round
00:03:35 – lastly let's look at the pressure settings for the angle section this will
00:03:45 – rotate your brush around as you drill depending on the pressure applied this
00:03:49 – would be great for twists and turns in your hand lettering but it does take
00:03:53 – some getting used to so have some fun with the brush settings in Illustrator
00:04:00 – and your drawing table and I hope you enjoyed this alliterative brush tutorial
